Tsheibyl-Bolos: Kyrgyzstani Memorial Feast
www.xs4all.nl, The Netherlands
A multimedia experiment in ethnography "were you can read, see, and
hear how people in South-Kyrgyzstan celebrate and commemorate their
historical heroes. The texture of the website is made up of games
(wrestling & ulak tartysh), fragments of the epos 'Manas', and Kyrgyz
oral history. It contains 30 photos, 3 sound samples of 'Manas', and 3
movie clips of the game ulak-tartysh/buzkashi."
[A site where a fascinating field material is wrestled into meek
submission by the rampant frames technology - ed.]
