"From this Autumn 1997, the SES will offer a BSc (Hons) in Sociology (South Asia Area Studies). The degree programme will provide a thorough coverage of the techniques of research analysis in sociology, politics, history, archaeology and economics. Students will develop a practical and theoretical understanding of the relevant institutional, environmental, social and intellectual context in which such techniques may be applied to South Asia AND the South Asian Diaspora. Students will also be introduced to a major South Asian language."
