"A two-day symposium, 'Power, Agrarian Structure, and Peasant Mobilization in Modern India,' on May 23-25, 1997 in Minor Hall at the Univ. of Virginia, to commemorate the scholarly and foundational contributions of Walter Hauser, Professor Emeritus in South Asian history. Professor Hauser taught in the Univ. of Virginia's Dept of History from 1960 until his retirement in 1995. Proceedings of the symposium will be published in a volume to be edited by Anand Yang, editor of the Journal of Asian Studies."
