On Reading Burch: Japanese Film as Ironic Commentary on Hollywood
Univ. of Florida, USA
"This site is designed to illustrate for the undergraduate student of
Japanese film a small number of rigorously used terms and techniques
over which Noel Burch plays out his argument in the seminal work "To
the Distant Observer." The presentation is offered in both text-only
and text-with-graphics versions. It is scheduled to be cross-listed
in the "Kinema Club" site on Japanese film."
