In 1996, the Open Society Institute began to expand its mandate to cover Armenia, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The new Project on Open Society in Central Eurasia will make available information and funds to support programs that deal with social, cultural, and legal issues, as well as other activities that support the development of civil societies. Information about each of the above-named countries is available at this site. The web site includes Latest News (updated every day), Media, Human Rights, Involvement of the United States, United Nations and other international bodies, Doing Business, Analytical Articles, Suggested Reading, and many many links to other resources.
