Amnesty International
Amnesty International launched a world wide campaign on China in March
1996, under the slogan 'No One is Safe - Political repression and
abuse of power in the 1990s'. The www site offers access to the 30,000
word Campaign Report. The report, in English and in Chinese, consists
of the following sections: Introduction; (1) The law and abuse of
power; (2) Imprisoning those who speak out; (3) Other targets of
repression; (4) Torture and impunity; (5) The death penalty; (6) China
and the world; (7) Conclusions and recommendations; Footnotes.
