Program in Critical Asian Studies
Univ. of Washington, Seattle, USA
A interdisciplinary UW Rockefeller Foundation Grant Program in
Critical Asian Studies. Proposals are invited for projects seeking to
explore one or more of the following areas: 1) the
internationalization of scholarship on Asia; 2) the contemporary role
of racialization, ethnicization and gendering in structuring the
movement of population through North American-Asian circuits; 3)
changes affecting the historical tension of the disciplinary boundary
between Asian Studies and Asian American Studies; and 4) the ethics
and politics of building productive relationships among academic
scholars and community interests (e.g. ethnicized American
communities, Asian communities in diaspora outside the United States,
refugee and migrant communities and so on).
