This document is updated four times a year (March, June, September and December). It systematically monitors and collects information about the relative online rank (i.e. the so called 'PageRank' [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank]) of the top 30 Asian Studies' institutions, organizations, specialist information resources, and research networks which are systematically indexed by the Google Search Engine [www.google.com].

The PageRank of a given web address 'measures' the site's relative importance within the world-wide archipelago of other web sites dealing with 'Asian Studies'.

The information presented below reflects the online rankings in early Sep 2009 and deals with the thirty highest scoring web sites within the greater universe of 6,450,000 web-based documents relevant to the query "asian studies."

The volume of the 'asian studies' web pages recorded by the Google Search Engine tends to grow with the passage of time. Statistics is available since 2002, and is presented below in reverse chronological order:
