The Association
The Association was formally established at an inaugural meeting held
at La Trobe University on 5 July 1995. Preliminary work for the
Association was undertaken by a committee of eight people, appointed
at a one-day workshop on the state of the discipline in Australia,
convened at the Australian National University in July 1994. The aim
of the Association is to promote collaboration, interaction and
networking among researchers, teachers, students and practitioners
interested in international relations and any person who is engaged in
the research, teaching, study or practice of international relations
is eligible for membership. At present, the Association has an
interim membership, pending the setting of membership fees. If you
are interested in becoming an interim member of the Association, then
contact any member of the Executive. The Association's Constitution
