item CAR PARKING

Daily and half-daily parking is available underneath the National Convention Centre on Constitution Avenue at A$7.70 and A$4.40 respectively (Monday to Friday). This underground parking is free on weekends. '3 for free' parking is available behind the Civic Olympic Pool on Allara Street (off Constitution Avenue) before 9am on weekdays.

item IMMIGRATION AND VISA REQUIREMENTS

Nationals of all countries, except New Zealand, require a passport and visa for entry to Australia. Visa-free entry at Australian airports is generally not possible. However, in some countries visas have been replaced by Electronic Travel Authorities (ETAs) which are available from travel agents. New Zealand citizens require a passport only.

We suggest you check with your travel agent or nearest Australian High Commission, Embassy or Consulate for rules regarding visas. Participants from or passing through certain countries may require immunisation against certain diseases and may be subject to health screening upon arrival. We urge you to make early arrangements to obtain the necessary entry permits.

item DRIVER LICENCES

Overseas driver licences in language other than English are to be accompanied by an official translation or an international driver licence. Remember to keep to the left hand side of the road and note that seat belts must be worn at all times in front and back seats.

item PERSONAL INSURANCE

Health care, dental and ambulance services are not free in Australia. We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive medical and travel insurance, which should also cover the possibility of flight cancellation due to strikes and other causes. A condition of registration is that ASAA, its contractors and its agents accept no responsibility of any nature whatsoever for personal injury, death, loss or damage to property of participants however caused or arising.

item GOODS AND SERVICES TAX (GST)

Please note that ALL PRICES quoted in this registration brochure are inclusive of 10% Australian GST.

item CLIMATE

Canberra has an inland climate with cool days and clear, crisp nights. Since it is winter, we recommend you bring warm clothing, for the evenings in particular.
